IBPEd develops professional patisserie education frameworks, curriculum structures, learning resources and educator standards.

IBPEd is an education standards and curriculum body. It is not a school and it does not conduct professional examinations.

THE PRINCIPLES BEHIND THE SYSTEM

Define what should be taught

Explore the curriculum-body purpose, learning outcomes, practical competencies and educator resources behind professional patisserie education. Approved 2027 specifications remain pending publication.

WHY EDUCATION NEEDS A STANDARD

More than recipes.
A structure for learning.

Professional patisserie education should not depend entirely on individual recipes, teaching habits or inconsistent course structures.

A strong education framework defines:

  • What students should learn
  • In what sequence
  • Which competencies should be developed
  • How practical learning should progress
  • What professional standards should be introduced
  • How education should evolve with industry

IBPEd develops this framework for the CAPA / La Couronne education system and its controlled education network.

WHERE IBPEd FITS

Defined roles.
A connected education system.

IBPEd defines the education framework. CAPA / La Couronne delivers structured training. IBPE independently examines demonstrated competence. Skill Passport records verified achievement only through its confirmed record process; the product endpoint remains pending.

QUESTIONS EVERY PATISSERIE STUDENT SHOULD ASK

Know what professional
education should include.

Before choosing a programme, ask about practical training, curriculum depth, hygiene, production, equipment, readiness, training hours and progression. Confirm the actual arrangements with the responsible provider.

01How much practical training will I actually receive?

Ask the provider to distinguish demonstrations, individual practice, shared activities and workplace learning. Confirm the actual supervised practical arrangement.

02What products and techniques will I learn?

Request the current product and technique scope, the learning outcomes and how practical work is organised.

03How many students share each workstation?

Ask about group size, workstation sharing, equipment access and the arrangements for individual practice.

04What equipment will I actually use?

Confirm equipment used in your specific programme, the access you will have, appropriate instruction and supervision.

05How is hygiene and professional discipline taught?

Ask how hygiene and professional discipline are taught throughout practical learning using current approved procedures.

06What happens after I complete the programme?

Clarify completion, progression and professional preparation. IBPE examination eligibility is separate, and education does not guarantee employment.

GLOBAL SKILLS LANDSCAPE

How the world develops
professional skills.

Explore all ten country profiles

Professional skills systems are shaped by the history, economy and educational culture of each country. IBPED studies these systems to understand what can be learned from them and how skills can become more transparent and portable internationally.

RESEARCH IN SUPPORT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Understand the craft.
Understand the context.

French pâtisserie. Japanese specialist training and process discipline. German vocational training. Swiss workplace learning. British qualification frameworks. Italian craft traditions. Singapore’s skills ecosystem. Indian entrepreneurship and scale. Each contributes something different.

Whether a professional begins in Paris, Tokyo, Zürich, London, Berlin, Singapore or Mumbai, the underlying question remains: can their skills be understood, assessed and trusted? That is the challenge IBPED seeks to address.

Recognition, admission and employment remain decisions of the receiving institution, employer or competent authority.
