Equipment access is a learning question

Ask what is available and how learning is organised around it.

01

Name the actual access

Ask which equipment learners will use, how access is organised and how many learners share a workstation. A photograph or equipment list alone does not establish the time and support available to an individual.

02

Ask about the learning arrangement

Request the provider’s explanation of demonstration, supervised practice, preparation and review. Confirm which arrangements apply to the actual programme rather than assuming that all published facilities are used in every pathway.

03

Use complete instructions

Practical equipment use requires the manufacturer’s instructions, the operator’s procedures and appropriate guidance. This article supports an education discussion and does not authorise operation of equipment.
